![]() ![]() I've created a new "Project," and each project contains data called "Connections" that users set up to upload different parts of the model to the cloud. Export from SketchUp to Revit 1) Go to Window, Model Information, Statistics, Purge Unused 2) Unhide Objects & Switch on Layers, Copy All to a New File 3). ![]() > Solids, make sure ACIS is selected and finish the export. A complete interoperability between CAD and BIM, supports SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, etc. Once in a 3D view select File > Export > DWG > Modify Export Setup. In the File Manager you will see Revit File (.rvt) listed as an option in the list of supported files. From an open Revit Project, select or create a 3D view. Here are some of the ways our users convert IFC with Data Views for Revit and Trimble SketchUp. As of 2023, SketchUp Studio subscriptions include a native Revit Importer. Common Conversions FME lets you integrate many applications and file formats. rvt file is saved locally, import the file in SketchUp by clicking File > Import. Revit to SketchUp data conversion workflows are constructed in FME Desktop’s intuitive graphical user interface, without writing any code. This workflow is valuable because it lets users take advantage of the differences in each program I prefer the ease and speed of the geolocation and shadows in Sketchup, though I'd rather model everything in Rhino. The Revit Importer offers two ways to bring Revit projects into SketchUp, from a local drive or from Trimble connect. It also allows users to collaborate on projects through the cloud using any of its supported apps. I've been using it this summer on a small project during my internship at HKS, and Flux has allowed the project team to divide up modeling tasks between users using both Rhino and Sketchup (some users prefer one software over the other) but still have changes reflected in both programs, since all data is hosted online through the Flux cloud.īelow is a quick demo showing how a project can send data from Rhino to Sketchup. With SketchUp’s 3D modeling software, go from sketch to a shared foundation to shape and remake your design vision. Much like Doodlebug, Flux can drastically cut down on time and effort wasted on getting digital models and drawings from one program to the next. Designers want to inspire other creatives and communities with their work, but they often lack the tools to communicate and refine their vision. This week I'm giving a quick introduction to Flux, an app for interoperability between various design software like Rhino, Revit, Sketchup, Dynamo, Grasshopper, and other programs like Google Sheets and Excel.
